Amanda Fortwangler
Hey there! I’m Amanda (she/her), a therapist intern who believes counseling can be life changing. I am in my third year of The Chicago School’s online program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I got my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and am interested in how our brain chemistry and experiences influence our functioning and behaviors. I utilize a Person-Centered Approach as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In combining these two, they complement each other to help boost self-awareness, emotional healing, and effective coping. Person-Centered Therapy works to build trust and emotional safety that lays the groundwork for utilizing tools for change in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
Life doesn’t always go as we expect, but in a supportive and safe space, I am here to encourage you as you work toward growth and healing. As a passionate and empathetic individual, I am dedicated to helping you navigate life’s challenges and build emotional resilience. With a focus on depression, anxiety, educational stressors, and relationship difficulties, we will create an open-minded, non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings while working toward positive change.
“You don’t have to be perfect to be AMAZING!”
