Solidarity

Reciprocity

Recognizing that we live on unceded Tohono O’odham, Yaqui, and Hohokam territory in Chuk’son, and in order to put our values of reciprocity and solidarity into action, we have set up a recurring monthly donation to the following local organizations. If you are a person of privilege and means, please consider supporting these organizations with your time or money.

Mariposas Sin Fronteras

A Tucson, AZ based group that seeks to end the systemic violence and abuse of LGBTQ people held in prison and immigration detention through supporting LGBTQ people currently detained in Eloy and Florence, AZ through visits, letters, bond support, advocacy, and housing upon freedom from detention.

Tucson Bail Fund

The Tucson Second Chance Community Bail Fund (TSCCBF) was established through a Black Lives Matter Tucson (BLM Tucson) “Mama’s Day Bailout” campaign in May of 2017. That campaign sought to raise money to free mothers in jail in order to raise awareness about the inequities and immorality of using a cash bail system. The “Mama Day Bailout” was a success but it also helped illuminate the need for ongoing cash bail assistance initiatives here in Pima County. As a result, the Second Chance Bail Fund Coalition (made up of local lawyers, activists, and concerned citizens) was created to manage and facilitate the creation of the Tucson Second Change Community Bail Fund in late summer of 2017.

The Native American Advancement Foundation

Formed in 2011 by members of the Tohono O’odham Tribe with the goal of helping strengthen local Native American communities in the areas of education, health and wellness, housing, food sustainability, environment, animal welfare, and opening economic opportunities on tribal lands.

Chacruna

Chacruna “pioneers initiatives that support and provide a platform for diverse voices, including women, queer people, people of color, Indigenous people, and the Global South. In efforts to address the lack of diverse representation in the expanding psychedelic landscape, we centered our mission around the empowerment of marginalized voices to foster cultural and political reflections on topics like race, gender, and sexuality in psychedelic science. We believe now more than ever, given the current social and political climate, our work is critical to the future of psychedelic healing for humanity.”
