Amelia Andrews

Hello,

My name is Amelia, and I am an intern counselor with TCA.

Searching for a new counselor can feel overwhelming, and finding the right fit is very important.

I use humor, empathy, ritual, careful listening, and provide my clients with the space and respect to do the work they wish to do. I am a member of the LGBTQI+ community and love working with all individuals, relationship constellations, and families who are figuring out their own way through this complicated life we have all been given.
I approach my work with individuals and families with humility and respect. My career has focused on social justice, and I have had the privilege of living and working in many different countries. I will work with you to center your culture and incorporate healing traditions that are meaningful to you. I work from a strengths-based, attachment-focused, feminist approach. This means that your intersectional identities, life experience, and personal expertise will guide our work together. I will partner with you to address the issues that matter to you, and we will work together to ensure you feel prepared, supported, and empowered throughout our time together.
I utilize a variety of techniques, including movement, art, play, somatic, and mindfulness exercises. We will work together to create interventions that are meaningful and helpful to you. I bring with me years of experience working with and advocating for individuals who have experienced trauma, specifically gender- and sexuality-based trauma, along with sexual assault and human trafficking. I am also a labor and postpartum doula and have a great deal of experience working with families with young children. I am in my final year of what will be my second Master’s, this time in counseling. I look forward to meeting with you if my bio sounds like a good fit, and I wish you well in your search for healing and growth.
