Andrea Buckley Valadez, LMSW

My therapeutic approach is anti-oppressive, intersectional, empowering, and evidence-based.

As a white, cis-presenting person, I acknowledge my privilege and care deeply about practicing cultural humility. As a queer, disabled person in recovery, I hope to use my experiences to be a more validating, compassionate, and effective therapist.

The modalities I most draw from are based in deepening our relationship with our bodies, parts of ourselves, and the present moment. Some of these modalities and frameworks include somatic experiencing, mindfulness, parts and inner child work, DBT, ERP, and increasing nervous system regulation. I am passionate about working with clients with OCD, anxiety, challenges with self-worth, communication, relationships, and identity. I am dedicated to creating a space that feels affirming  and empowering for all. I enjoy and have experience working with queer, disabled, chronically ill, neurodivergent, and BIPOC folks with intersecting and dynamic identities.

I have worked in mental and behavioral health for over 7 years in many roles in both residential, home, and outpatient settings. I received my Master’s in Social Work from ASU in 2024 and have been at TCA for two years, starting as an intern and growing into an associate counselor.

My goal as a therapist is to collaborate with my clients on creating a clear, defined path to meeting their goals, and create a therapeutic relationship that makes it clear that your most authentic voice matters.
