This training will provide attendees with an understanding of how self-compassion can foster their development and enhance their resilience and wellbeing as professional counselors. In particular, we will focus on self-compassion’s role in reducing imposter phenomenon and mental distress while increasing self-efficacy and resilience. Attendees will be invited to engage in self-compassion practices and reflect on how these tools can be used for their own growth and that of their clients.

Kate Kincaid (she/her), LPC Executive Director

Brian Clarke is an assistant professor at the University of Arizona. He earned an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Arizona University and his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from The University of Arizona. He is also a practicing clinical mental health counselor right here at Tucson Counseling Associates.

His research publications include investigations of contemplative dispositions such as self-compassion for counselor development and wellbeing, and emerging adult mental health. He has great enthusiasm for counselor training and producing research that can have a tangible impact on individuals and the community.
