From Awareness to Action:
Social Justice in Counseling
This presentation explores the role of social justice in counseling through the lenses of advocacy, awareness, and action. Participants will examine what it means to practice from a social justice perspective, including how systemic barriers and inequities impact client mental health, while also reflecting on their own positionality, identities, and potential biases within the therapeutic relationship. The session concludes with practical strategies for integrating advocacy into clinical work and promoting equity in our counseling practice.
