Cota Piehl

Hello!

I am very excited to be back at TCA. I first joined TCA in 2017 after I graduated from Northern Arizona University where I earned a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I moved out of state for a brief time and had worked in another behavioral health agency before finding my way back to TCA. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology.

My therapeutic style follows a diverse and holistic approach that is focused on the connection of mind, body and spirit. Based on your needs, various modalities such as EMDR, CBT, DBT and mindfulness are implemented. By targeting stuck thoughts, habits and systems, we will be able to heal those trauma areas and create positive ways of thinking and functioning, develop stronger boundaries and have healthier relationships.

I am a peaceful, compassionate and empathetic therapist who will support and at times, challenge you while providing insight and guidance and offering a nurturing and nonjudgmental environment. My goal is to help you become the person you were meant to be. Together, we will develop new coping mechanisms for you to apply in your lives.

I am passionate about working with adults, couples and families, especially those from diverse backgrounds and have worked with refugees and LGBTQ+ communities. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, low self-esteem and relationships/family issues.

Securing a connection is paramount before moving forward in the therapeutic relationship therefore I encourage meeting for an initial visit to see if you are comfortable working together. I would be honored to be part of your journey. Look forward to meeting you!
