Marjorie De Jesus (she/her), Intern Therapist

I enjoy working with adults and adolescents from all backgrounds and identities, with a particular interest in working alongside neurodivergent individuals and men who are navigating emotional, relational, and identity challenges.

Many of the people I work with have spent years feeling misunderstood, masking parts of themselves, or believing they have to face life’s struggles alone.

Together, we work to better understand those patterns while building a life that feels authentic, connected, and personally meaningful. Shame often convinces people that they are fundamentally flawed or unworthy of connection. Whether those feelings stem from trauma, neurodivergence, identity, relationships, or life experiences, I offer a therapeutic relationship grounded in curiosity, respect, and genuine acceptance.

My approach prioritizes collaboration, autonomy, and meaning-making.

Rather than focusing solely on reducing symptoms, I’m interested in helping clients identify what makes life worth living for them and how they can do so while being their authentic selves.

I have a particular interest in working with experiences of shame, loneliness, social isolation, and the ways marginalized identities, including sexuality, can shape those experiences. I am currently pursuing training in the Good Lives Model, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and Relational-Cultural Theory.

My work is grounded in values-based, trauma-informed, and relational approaches; I believe that people grow best when they are attuned to their core principles, given compassionate space to share, be, and act, and develop fulfilling relationships. My goal is to create a space where clients can explore who they are with honesty, curiosity, and compassion, even when they’re carrying experiences that feel confusing, isolating, or difficult to talk about. I am a firm believer in the Relational-Cultural understanding that human connection is a basic need and that people grow best through authentic, growth-fostering relationships, particularly when navigating shame, marginalization, prejudice, and systemic oppression.
