Shon’tell LaRochelle
Shon’tell LaRochelle is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who brings over two decades of nursing experience spanning clinical practice, education, and healthcare leadership.
Her approach to care is holistic and collaborative, rooted in the belief
that everyone deserves high-quality care that affirms and celebrates who they are.
She is proud to serve children, adolescents, and adults across all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ individuals, with care that is inclusive, affirming, and free from unnecessary shame. All genders, sexualities, and relationship styles are welcome, and treatment is always delivered with consideration for the whole person.
Shon’tell holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health from Jacksonville University, Florida (2021), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
from Husson College, Maine (1999), and a Case Management and Care Coordination Certificate from the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville. She provides individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that thoughtfully integrate
psychotherapy, medication management, and alternative treatment modalities.
Grounded in person-centered therapy and motivational interviewing, Shon’tell prioritizes truly listening to each client and their family before developing a care plan tailored to their unique needs and goals. She is deeply committed to empowering clients and their families through education, helping them understand the role medications play in mental health recovery as well as the impact of neurodivergence on behavioral health.
Beyond her clinical practice, Shon’tell has a deep commitment to nursing education and mentorship. She has taught and supervised nursing candidates at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville and served as a Clinical Nurse Instructor at Pima Community College in Tucson,
where she guided students through meaningful hands-on clinical experiences. Her leadership background includes serving as Director of Clinical Services at Maxim Health Agency in Portland, Maine, where she oversaw clinical operations, ensured compliance with Federal and
State regulations, and developed homecare-based treatment plans for a diverse client population.
