Zach Warzecka

Each of us live within a life story, a narrative that makes sense of ourselves and the world around us. But what are we to do when our story feels unbearable, filled with anxiety, weighed down by depression, dominated by the past, or saturated with negative, harmful, and hopeless views? Reaching out for help through therapy can allow us to rewrite our lives, changing the way we cope with challenges and difficulties.

As an interning therapist, completing a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from NAU, my primary goal is to aid you in creating the kind of experience that you will find meaningful, fulfilling, and healthy. I eclectically adapt my approach to meet your needs, and the goals you would like to accomplish, integrating narrative therapy with intersectional feminist and mindfulness perspectives (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindful Self-Compassion).

In simpler terms, we will foster change and growth by exploring who you are, unpacking the influences that inform the ways you think, feel, and act, and shifting your relationship with challenging emotions.

No matter the therapeutic goals you set for our work, I always strive to offer a culturally responsive space that validates the lived experiences and emotions of diverse individuals. To this end, my clinical practice employs an LGTBQIA+ affirming stance; I work with adults of all gender conforming and non-conforming identifications and approach therapy from an anti-oppressive lens.

As a former professor and faculty advisor, I also have extensive experience supporting undergrad and graduate communities and welcome the opportunity to aid both students and teachers in processes of growth, discovery, and healing.

If you’d like to create new ways of engaging yourself and your life, characterized by insight, acceptance, and (self) compassion, I look forward to collaborating with you.
