This course provides an overview of harm reduction principles and their application in working with substance use. Participants will explore compassionate, nonjudgmental approaches to supporting individuals who use substances, with an emphasis on reducing risk, increasing safety, meeting clients where they are, and promoting autonomy and engagement in treatment. The training also examines stigma, stages of change, and practical strategies clinicians can use to support clients without requiring abstinence as the sole goal.
Tucson Counseling Associates has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6979. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Tucson Counseling Associates is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
